CARASSAUGA FESTIVAL 2006

Carassauga Festival 2006 cultural pavilions included: Africa, Armenia, Canada, Caribbean, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Hawaii, India, Italy, Jamaica, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Pakistan,Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Scotland, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States.
CARASSAUGA CELEBRATES ANOTHER RECORD YEAR!
Carassauga's hardworking volunteers and loyal sponsors were honoured at the festival's annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the Mississauga Grand Banquet and Convention Centre.
The 2005 Board of Directors thanked the 22 pavilion chairpersons, their volunteers and the many sponsors for their support and dedication to Mississauga’s largest city-wide festival.
This year, the festival enjoyed record passport sales and attendance. Luz del Rosario, Carassauga chairperson reported a 18% increase in overall passports sales for a total of 23,550.
Attendance also rose this year with more than 190,000 people visiting the 22 pavilions. This year’s cultural pavilions included: Africa, Armenia, Canada, Caribbean, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Hawaii, India, Italy, Jamaica, Lebanon, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Scotland, Ukraine and the United States.

The festival, established by Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion in 1985, was created to promote understanding, respect and co-operation among all Canadians of different heritage.
This year, Carassauga will be celebrating its 21st anniversary on May 26, 27 and 28, 2006 and looks forward to featuring more countries from around the world.
