Batman-on-Film reports that, while not officially signed for it, director Christopher Nolan will helm the sequel to Batman Begins. The site adds that screenwriter David Goyer will "most likely be involved" as well. As for the cast, "Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman are set to return. Morgan Freeman will probably be back as Lucius Fox."

"The sequel will probably not pick up right after the events of Begins. A bit of time may have passed between the events of Begins and the sequel," claims BoF.

And which villain may appear in the sequel? Batman-on-Film suggests that it may not be The Joker, as the rumor mill has oft-suggested, but rather another "one that we saw in the previous Burton/Schumacher series."

Finally, comic book writer Denny O'Neil will write the novelization of Batman Begins, according to the latest issue of SFX Magazine.
